Library
Most educations, at all ages require a well stocked Library with efficient and effective information retrieval system within the reach at convenient time.
With this objective in view, AMU provides its students "Maulana Azad Library" which is one of the oldest and largest Library of Asia.
The Library was founded in 1877 as an integral part of MAO College but the transformation of the College into the University called for more space and as a result on 12th November, 1956 Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone.
The library has a vast collection of books on different subjects with special emphasis on latest computer related books.
At present there are about 15,38,147 volumes in total covering all subjects like Science, Applied Science, Computers , Law, Historical Studies, Arts, Management, Engineering, Medical etc.
In addition, it has a priceless treasure of a large number of manuscripts.
Library is thoroughly rich in scientific literature of the 19th and 20th century.
Library has subscriptions to a large number of magazines, journals, newspapers etc., providing an immense source of primary knowledge for academic and research activities.
There is a separate section called "Seminar" equipped with latest IT books, journals etc. and convenient sitting arrangement specially meant for IT students, which provides supportive and encouraging environment.
The library services are manned and maintained by a team of qualified and experienced staff, who give full assistance to all the library users.
A special feature of library making it unique is that it remains open for 24 hours for the convenience of the students.
Computing Facility
The Computer Centre at A.M.U is equipped with one Windows NT server, one UNIX server and one LINUX server.
The Computer Centre has Pentium based systems as well as HP-9000 series systems under UNIX environment.
Apart from a well equipped lab in Computer Centre, the Department of Computer Science also has a separate lab.
There are all together 35 windows based Pentium IV Systems in the department and more than 50 terminals in the Computer Centre.
Shortly, Computer Centre is going to provide all these facilities to different departments, University Library, Engineering College and Medical College through computer wide network.

Internet Facility is available to the students and all Faculty members of the University. The Internet Lab is equipped with Pentium III systems. The Computer Centre has a LANSterm
Terminal Server, which is a versatile, high performance system that provides upto 16 asynchronous RS232-C compatible ports and one centronics compatible parallel port and enables
connections to TCP/IP host systems over Thicknet or Thinnet or Twisted pair network. It provides the users access to any host systems on the TCP/IP internet network and enables
users on the host to remotely access devices such as serial printer, parallel printers and modem links which are connected to the terminal server.
The Computer Centre is opened currently from 8.00 am till 10.00 pm. trained computer professionals are always present to provide support and services to various users.
